Windows 7 Install Guide Page 2

6) License Agreement:

Here we see the License Agreement you must accept before continuing.
After reading the agreement, check the box next to "I accept the license terms" and select Nextbutton.

7) Option Selections:

Here we would be able to choose an "Upgrade" install (if running setup from a previous version of Windows, such as Vista) or a "Custom" (clean) install.
Select the whole box containing "Custom (advanced)" to continue to the next screen.

8) Hard Drives:

This is where you can select which hard drive/partition to install Windows 7 on. Since this system only has one hard drive, only one place Windows 7can go. Advanced options are shown in the next screen shot.
This is also where you would install drivers for your ACPI/RAID/SATA controller by using the "Load Driver" option. After the installation of the ACPI/RAID/SATA drivers, your hard drives should appear as shown on the right.
If no additional drivers are needed, select the Next button.

9) Advanced Options:

The advanced options allow creation of multiple partitions and the option of formatting existing partitions.
After finishing your particular partition configuration that you desire, select the Next button.

Windows 7 Install Guide Page 1

Introduction
After many requests for this information posted on various forums, I have drafted this general guide to help.
Take note: Regardless of flavor of Windows 7 or if it is 32/64-bit that you will be installing, the steps listed here are the same. The only difference would be which product key is entered to determine which flavor of 7 is installed.
Important Information
This guide assumes a "clean" installation and not an "upgrade" from a previous OS. Ensure that you backup all of your important files (documents, music, etc) to CD/DVD/another hard drive before following these steps.
If you are using Hard Disks in a ACPI or RAID setup, you will first need to download the latest Windows 7 compatible (32-bit or 64-bit) for your particular hardware before installing clean. Check with your chipset/hard drive controllers manufactures web site for the latest drivers/information before starting.
This guide is for OEM (purchased separately from the computer) and retail versions of Windows 7. Installation instructions specific to computers with "recovery partitions" or recovery DVD's are very different. Consult your manufactures instructions for details.

1) Shall we begin?

After configuring the system for booting from a DVD, the Windows Setup screen appears.
At this point, Setup is loading the driver files it needs to continue with installation.

2) Progress Bar:

The next screen is a more graphical progress bar indicating Windows 7 is still working in the background.

3) Option Selections:

The first options you will come across are selections for Language, Time and currency format, and Keyboard layout.
Make your selections by using the pull down menus and press the Next button.

4) Install Now:

Here we have the option of repairing a previous installation or "Install Now." Since this is a clean installation of Windows 7 and not a repair, Install Now is the proper choice.
Highlight the "Install Now" button to continue to the next screen.

5) Please Wait:

Windows 7 is working in the background. This may take several minutes depending on the system.

Intel i7 vs intel core to quad Q9650?

I want to buy a quad core processor and I don't know much about these two , Please somebody tell me is core to quad and i7 are same ? .. (perhaps they both are quad core) , I have a Intel mother board , MSI g31-tm P21 , I don't know it supports I7 or not , In the specification it is written that It supports core to quad , So will it support i7 ? , I'm fear that if i'll buy i7 and my mother board will not support it , So please acquaint me some best advise , thanks you !

Just tell me will my mother board will support I7 ? and which one of those processors is better ?

Answer:

Your motherboard will not support a Core i7, it only supports LGA775 CPUs (including Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs).

Core 2 Quad and Core i7 are not the same, they are two different product lines. There are no motherboards that take any Core 2 Quad CPUs and any Core i7 CPUs -- there is no overlap in the socket types. All Core 2 Quad desktop CPUs are socket LGA775 CPUs. All Core i7 desktop CPUs are socket LGA1366 or LGA1156.

The Core 2 Quad Q9650 is an excellent CPU. Performance is comparable to a Core i5 760, though it doesn't have some of the newer features the Core i5 has. (Performance is not as good as the desktop Core i7 CPUs.)

Explain Computer Booting Process

Explains Computer Booting Process?

Answer

Booting is the process of loading and starting the operating system. A boot sequence is the initial set of operations that the computer performs when power is switched on. BIOS of the computer does this job. A modern PC BIOS supports booting from various devices, typically a local hard disk drive (or one of several partitions on such a disk), an optical disc drive, a USB device (flash drive, hard disk drive, optical disc drive, etc.)

Computer speed became low

Hey computer geeks help me out!?

Now this is a huge problem. You see my computer recognition speed became low. My main problem is letters get recognized lately For Eg-When I type 'asd' on my keyboard in the notepad they show up 3 or 4 sec. later on my screen. I already have Kapersky and Tune up Utilities. What is my problem?

Additional Details

Mine is an almost new Dell laptop. I guess this all started happening after a pop-up opened in a website. Is it any Malware?

Answer

I just answered this question for someone else, so I am just going to cut and paste my answer, the detials may be a bit different.

The heart of your computer, motherboard, cpu, memory, etc works or it doesn't, it does not get weaker with age the way a car engine might. So, you are either running too much on it or there there is something memory ( hard drive) related keeping it from accessing data as it should.

Start by opening your computer in safe mode and running virus scans, adware, spybot, etc. Everything you can think of to weed out hidden programs.

Most people who don't take care of their computers are running lots of useless crap in the background that they never see but that takes up their computer power, you should look at your start up and your services list and strip it to the absolute minimum. You think it is cute to have a cursor that looks like a dinosaurs that runs across your page when you move your mouse? Maybe, but it takes CPU power. Go to "run" and type in MSCONFIG, when the Program come up pick start and go through each individual process and remove all those that are not absolutely necessary for your PC, that includes all the little convenience garbage like Automatic updates, you should to that yourself once a week. This alone would fix all the problems that 90 percent of users have.

Go to Black Viper's web site, http://www.blackviper.com/ , he has a great few pages telling you what services you should allow your computer to fun based on your OS and what you do with it. Not only will it give you more speed, it will make your computer more secure.

The only "hardware" issue, you are liable to have is not enough Ram, but this would only be for the running of new software and not enough or horribly fragmented ROm. Go through your hard drive and trash anything you don't use. Got an hundred gigs of ****? Weed out the ones you don't watch and remember don't just delete, but also empty the recycle bin. Got games you only play once a year? Assuming you still have the disks, remove them. When you are done, defrag your disk.

Just from this stuff, and assuming you take this time to get rid of the crap that came reinstalled by the manufacturer, going just to the bare windows, your computer should not only be faster than it has been, but faster than it was when you bought it.

While it never hurts to crack upon your case and clean the dust out, and it is in fact something you shoulld do periodically ( especially if you are a smoker or have pets) that will not effect your speed. If your computer overheats is will stop, not slowdown.

See you added that stuff too late. Ignore the hardware stuff mentioned, focus on cleaning out start up, malware, etc. Also check your power settings. Your lap top may be set to dial back when it is on battery, and you may have accidentally set the default to similar parameters.
